Christmas 2008...

We had such a great Christmas this year that we spent at the lake with my family! We were so spoiled by everyone and just got to relax and eat yummy food all weekend!

Christmas Eve
First we opened gifts early at Corey's parents while everyone was there. Since we were all spending Christmas in other places. Then we packed up our stuff and headed to the lake!
We had our usual crab boil and it was so yummy! We also snacked on some delicious hors' devours! And I was in charge of getting us through the night, so we played Monopoly! I hadn't played it forever and so it was more fun than usual! Not to mention that I ended up winning...I think for the first time in my life...the next morning!

Christmas Morning
We got up bright and early at 6:00 am because of me! I had some excitement issues and had really been up since like 4:00, the baby wouldn't stop moving, I kept having to pee, my brother called at 5:00 and then there was just no hope for me to fall back to sleep!

And there's Corey opening the last present under the tree! I couldn't get off the couch because there were too many boxes and garbage all over the floor! I know that this will be boring for you, just skip it, but now I must record what we got, so that I don't forget!

Corey's gifts: Snowboard, .17 hmr bull barrel gun, running shoes, workout gear, ipod arm band, thermal tees, button up shirts, pj's, hoody, pocket knife, some movies, money & gift cards.
Brandy's gifts: Ugg boots, thermal tees, three sets of pj's (you can never have enough), diamond earings, a snowflake necklace, disney movies, a sweater & boots that match, other jewelries, perfume, a pocket knife, maternity pants and tops, and gift cards.
Baby's gifts: She got a her own sock filled with toys, socks, onesies, lotions and wash cloths.
Together: Santa gave us a camcorder to record all the special moments we'll be having this year, a tripod, bag and light for it also, money for a pack 'n play, and a deep fryer!
I'm hoping I didn't forget anything, but a big thanks to both of our families for spoiling us to death! I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

Opening presents...we did not get a normal picture of me doing this! I'm just making terrible faces in all of them! I also decided to forgo the picture of all the cute presents laid out after the shower! Corey was against me making a giant mess in the house! But I got tons of awesome gifts that are so practical...diapers, wipes, lotions, body wash, towels, books, outfits, onesies, socks, headbands, medicines, burp rags, nursing cover, sling, etc! It has definitely helped us be more prepared for when baby comes!

Oh Christmas Tree....

I know we're kind of slow, but I'm not one of those "day after Thanksgiving" put up the tree kind of people! So we just went and picked one out last night for FHE and decorated it! I think it turned out really pretty and now our home feels like Christmas! And we're wishing you a fun filled, relaxing Christmas Season!

The Avent Isis IQ Duo Breast Pump

Do you think I'm crazy??? I want it to be fast...I like these because they actually mimic the suction of the baby that you can set or reset anytime, I just wondered if anyone had heard anything on them!




I'm totally clueless about this whole breastfeeding thing...and I have decided that I want a pump because I want Corey to feed plus I don't want baby to not take a bottle. So I've been doing some research, and I know some of you recommended the Medela Pump in Style, but I found this pump and it sounds kind of awesome! Then again awesome to a someone who's never done it, compared to someone who has may be slightly different! So let me know if you've heard anything about it or read about it and tell me what you think! Thanks...again...for all the help!

Twilight the movie = Lame

I just saw Twilight tonight....and with low expectations I still thought it was lame! Anyone else?

My first baby shower....

Yesterday my family threw our first baby shower and it was so much fun! I'm so grateful to Natalie who threw the shower for me...she did such an amazing job! And I'm also grateful to everyone who came, it was so fun to see everyone! Warning...many pictures to follow....we were so spoiled!

Oh how time flies...

Here we are, another body update post, the time is going by so fast and the months are just flying by!

6 Months

(I swear that white isn't slimming at all I look HUGE!)

We really haven't been up to much and I feel like I need to apologize for not posting anything exciting forever! And for not being a very good commenter...but I haven't felt like blogging lately! So Sorry! But we've got some fun things coming up so I'll be posting a little more regularly for all of you who care! Oh, but I can tell you all that I had a dream last night that our Baby Girl Monson weighed in at 10 lbs 3 oz and was as long as two couch cushions....weird...and it sorta freaked me out! Hopefully that will not be the case because we'd have a toddler and not a baby !

soccer, not my favorite sport...

Today I was informed that apparently my uterus is about the size of a soccer ball....what? If there's a "soccer ball" inside of me, where the heck are my other vital organs??? I guess if they aren't protruding out my belly button then I shouldn't be worried! However, that might explain some of the discomfort!

Happy Anniversary, happy anniversary #3....

Well Yesterday (October 20) we celebrated anniversary three. Not really having much time we just jetted off to SLC on Monday to go shopping, eat lots of yummy food we don't have in Logan, and have a sleepover! It was lots of fun! Thanks to the Training Table, Cheesecake Factory, Happy Sumo, and PF Changs...we definitely had a good time and gained like 10 lbs! Unfortunately, the shopping wore my feet out, but we were able to get some fun stuff, nothing for the baby like I had planned! Oh well, I still have time to get a car seat...right? So here's a slight documentation from the trip...

Pink, Pink and MORE Pink....

Here's the spread of pink clothes that our baby girl has already collected...I think she's gonna like to shop when she gets older! HOWEVER, I have only purchased one of these outfits for her and the rest is due to her excited Grandpa and Grandma Roberts! Can't wait until I can put her in all of these!(you should really enlarge this photo to see the cute stuff!)

5 Month Body Update

It's there, a little bit, I sorta wish she'd just pop out so that my tailbone wouldn't continue to experience so much pain! Oh well, what can I do, just wait I guess for this supposed belly bump to really form!

A first and the runners up...

Yesterday my Mom gave me a giant container full of plums ready to become jam. I have NEVER made jam before and she left to Montreal today so she couldn't help me! Well, I'm proud to say that today I made my first batch of Plum Jam, I just hope it tastes as good as it looks!

It took nearly two hours from start to finish, made 7 1/2 jars, and now I'm completely exhausted!

I also thought I'd share the blog design runners up, since we didn't have a boy (and there was way more cute boy paper at the store), I have two blogs that just didn't make the cut...but they are soooo cute I wanted all to see them!

A BIG GIANT THANKS...

To all you moms out there who offered your wise and experienced advice to me! It was awesome to finally feel like I had some answers, however, I do still feel slightly overwhelmed about the things to buy but have decided that it's not a huge deal! It will come eventually and I'll be able to decide what's most important and what I like! But a super thanks to those of you who recommended literature for me! I just got Baby Wise tonight and started reading it...what an awesome book so far! After everything I've learned in my child development and education classes in conjuction with this book, it all makes so much sense! I know that implementing the actual techniques might be difficult but I'm vowing to do it! Wish me luck...and don't worry I'm also going to read The Baby Whisperer, And the Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy, and possibly What to Expect When You're Expecting too, which were also recommended, it's just one book at a time for right now! So once again a much deserved thanks goes to YOU!

Baby Appointment #2...

Today was our second doctor's appointment for the baby. It was great! I got to listen to the heartbeat again, sounds good, and then asked my doctor a buttload of questions! And now that I've finally started to feel better, here's a few things that I'm loving....

Sliced Oranges

OH I could eat anything there...but the breadsticks and Santa Fe Alfredo....YUM!

Yummy Fresh Corn on the Cob...I know it won't last long...but for now I'm enjoying it!

And lastly the Crispy Chicken Salad at Wingers...so darn tasty!

But my appetite isn't just limited to those places...I can finally eat sandwiches without gagging and haven't thrown up for TWO WEEKS! Yesssss! I think I'm finally past it and excited to be able to start being normal, picking back up my workouts, and taking less naps (yeah right)! So there's my update....(Four Months...or sixteen weeks...but it's close enough)

And here's my bump...which I don't think I have one! Sometimes at night...but I'll come!

Eating, Breathing, and Sleeping the Olympics...

NOW WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO????

The last two weeks were completely awesome and now I'm so sad that the Olympics are over! There is nothing on TV now and I feel a little lost! They were pretty much awesome from start to finish...and I seriously cried when they were over (hey it could be the hormones)! So now I'm anxiously waiting for...
